Otto Titan von Hefner was in 1827 Born in Munich and was, Like his father, historian. In particular, as he made his name heraldist. His main work is one of the four-volume work Family tree of flowering aristocracy in Germany. It appeared from 1860.
Hefner describes the first documented occurrence, the progenitor, Diploma Ceremonies, in the same family name, he points to another carrier with a description of the shield. Hefner was also, of the Siebmacher armorials revised and 1854 saw to, that as a new edition under the title “The new sieve” were published. Some of his works are available as digitized:
